Makes sense. Just so you know, if someone gets mad about you asking them questions, either they're a jerk or they think you're making fun of them. Sometimes people intentionally ask questions with obvious answers to tease the other person. Like, for a moment there, I thought you were making fun of me and saying I was being a brat. If you explicitly indicate that you're seeking further context for the remark, it will help you sidestep defensive reactions and get you more information more quickly.

A "jerk" is an annoying person, if you haven't encountered that word before. And a "brat" is a rude child.
