[She sighs, then continues on, sounding almost like she's quoting this load of bullshit speech from memory as she does.]

They want me to tell people that they feel very regretful for how they've handled some of the problems they've been having with us since our arrival, and are hoping this gesture may help go some small way towards smoothing out the rough edges that have caused such unfortunate friction in our working relationship.
