Instead he will gladly have everyone else acknowledge that not only he's done something useful, he is trusting them with making the decision because they will be more suitable to make the right one and all that nonsense that will stroke their ego.]

I would prefer have everyone come to an agreement before taking action. Team work is important and I am sure there will be other hires more suitable than me to go through with an eventual plan.
