[Locked to New Hires]
[Dan shows up on video, clearly on the muggy roof trying to get one of his contraband cigarettes in without ending up butterfly chow. It's put him in a good mood, adding the spice of daring-do to the morning smoke. He's got a sneaky grin on his face.
Better to actually get to work on doing something instead of wallowing in raw memories.]
Hypothetical question. [He glances over his shoulder and sees that none of the wildlife is about to attack him, then takes a drag.] If you could pick Planker's brain, what would you want to know?

But on a more serious note: Any information he might have had on us. How Jorgmund actually got a hold of us, and what their broader plans for us are.

But he wears a psi-blocker so it's not happening.

So even though he's grinning as he steps out of sight of another low-flying butterfly, his tone is serious and respectful as he addresses Kerrigan.]
I'd say you're going to need to write this down for me, but that wouldn't work. Anyhow. If this goes according to plan, this pillow talk is going to be a little unorthodox.

I'm going to be doing so many finger quotes you'd think I have a tic on my hands.
[That sort of thing works only when you're talking face to face, Shelley]
Planker as in the trainer that's built like a brick and is completely unaware of the words 'positive reinforcement', right? Sorry for asking, but has he also done anything else that could make him a good target for hypothetical scenarios? Or is he being targeted just for strategic reasons?
[Don't get her wrong, having to face some really miserable training sessions every other day is a good enough reason to target him for shenanigans, but she suspects that, unless everybody is thin-skinned and is fed up with his way of shouting like he does, there must be other reasons, reasons she's unaware of.
She certainly isn't dissuading Dan, though. By all means, pick on his brain]

We see him every day and he's got access to the dangerous side of this operations that my secretary pool friends don't. Plus, I reckon he's got real straightforward tastes.

[ Not a bad question, just a loaded one. Robbie’s down with telepathically swiping intel, but it’s a question of what you do with it. ]
I’d want his unvarnished thoughts and opinions on all the employees he knows. Who does he think is soft on us, who’s under suspicion, that sort of thing.
And the passcode to that funhouse of his, and where to find the blueprints. I’m pretty sure that we could liberate some lasers and tech.
no subject
I've had plenty of hookups where the pillowtalk was gossip about coworkers. That should be straightforward enough. Reckon I might need to brainstorm to think of how to casually drop 'gimme the passcodes' into a bedroom conversation without making it crystal obvious that I ain't jumping Planker for his pecs.

Who the most obtuse IT staff member is and when they're on shift. Someone that can possibly be socially engineered into giving us a temporary password, thinking we're the actual staff member, so we can get into someone's account.
We can ask Other K for the name and possibly even the username of someone high-ranking in the labs and what password recovery options the employees are provided. South can possibly sit near said lab staff member in the cafeteria to get a voice sample - since she's apparently very good at impressions. Someone manipulative can also possibly socially engineer answers to the recovery password options from the lab staff member. Name of first pet and so on.
That "employee" aka South can then potentially make a call and try to convince the IT staff to reset a password. We'd need access to one of the hard wired computers in another deck, and a phone, to call, bamboozle, reset it, and login but we have people capable of infiltration. If she's willing to assist.
If the nanochain array is in the labs, a high ranking lab staff member may have access to schematics, operational instructions, how to repair it, what the power supply is hooked up to, etc.
Also with the dead drop of electronics Stacia made I may be able to jury rig a usb connection to download it to someone's comm so it can be sent to someone that can make sense of it, but no promises. The best we might be able to do is take pictures of the screen.

IT, huh? [That's one of the areas of staff Dan hasn't tried to ingratiate himself into, largely because he understands so little about technology that any juicy secrets would fly right over his head, lost forever to the ether.] First pet and mother's maiden name, street you grew up on, that's all easy. I can talk anyone into playing the Stripper Name Game with me.
['Dan Sagittarius is actually my stripper name' is a pretty good way to yank a conversation where he wants to take it.
He addresses the group more generally.]
Everyone getting this? Looks like we're evolving this all the way from a bad decision I'm going to get drunk to make to a bona fide plan.

[He's glib at first, because he's had some harsh mornings with Planker, but he gets serious.]
I do a lot of nosing around the staff here and seeing what they know and if it helps us. Most of the staff I got access to that way don't know jack shit, just line cooks and nav techs and the like. Planker's one of the folks we got regular access to who has clearance to more information than I can find chumming with the folks in the mail room, and he seems like a relatively straightforward type.
[As opposed to one of the staff members who might try and pull Dan's strings right back. Dan suspects that Planker's sadism is his most central and transparent motivation - good. Simple is easier to manipulate.]
