Hey - hey, everyone - I just ran into the killer again. She - got away. But she hurt Catra very badly. I'm taking her to the infirmary right now. Can someone meet me there? I think I healed her a bit, but she's still in bad shape.

[ There's a pause. ]

Oh, right, I guess I'm She-ra again. Long story.

[If it's any comfort, someone is in the infirmary when she gets there, and it's even the person she was yelling at to go get looked at.

The downside is it means he won't be much of a hand with Catra, given he's down one of those at the moment. He looks up as Adora enters, giving a halfhearted wave with the good arm. One of the nurses is in the process of setting him up with a sling for a splinted forearm.]

[ She's cradling Catra in her arms still. Which she can do because she's eight feet tall and made of solid muscle like this. She carefully sets Catra onto one of the beds and tries to get the nurses to look her over. ]

How's your arm...?

[Luckily the nurses are on top of things here. Even the one working on Dave is quick and hurry over to Catra, leaving Dave and Adora to themselves for a bit. He shrugs with one shoulder.]

Great. So awesome. Never been better.

[Her growth spurt is even more evident in person. Dave arches an eyebrow, looking up at her.]

Shit, someone's been eating their wheaties.

[ Adora breathes out and there's a glow and she slowly shrinks back to her normal self. ]

...apparently I have my powers back. Which is... nice, honestly. I thought they were gone for good.

Huh. Do said powers do something beyond make you tall and glowy? I mean, it's cool if that's it, lots of people are probably into that, I was just wondering.

[Let's move on before he accidentally hits on her.]

Anyway. Yeah. Any updates on the murderlady situation?

Uh, let's see- [ She counts off on her fingers. ]

Strength, speed, magic, glowing sword that I can change into different things... yeah, they do lots of stuff.

[ Oh, right. Murderlady. ]

She... got away. I had to save Catra.

Kinda figured that much when you weren't dragging her corpse behind you in here. Did you at least see what she looked like? Where she ran off to? Come on, Dora, give me something.

Uh - redhead, from what I remember. But I'm not sure if that means anything...

[ In that moment she feels small. She let people down. She could've prevented this from turning into something more. But she chose Catra. She chose her own happiness. She doesn't regret it. Not really. But it does twist the knife a little. ]

[Dave's not in the softest mood at the moment, but he does nod.]

Okay. So she probably went that way right after Wash and I ran into her. No time to get a new wig. That's something. Where was this at?

A few levels down. Catra tried to take her away from the infirmary. Which... she succeeded at. And almost got herself killed for it...

[Ugh. He's trying to be patient, she's clearly upset, but goddammit so is he. Wash is over on the other side of the infirmary barely stabilized and they still don't have anyone any this bitch's tail.

Jaw set, he pulls out his comm to shoot Dan a message to update him on the situation. And maybe to vent a little.]

Four flights of stairs.

[ Adora seems to sense the frustration and that just turns it into a feedback loop. Her expression tightens up. Her body language seems a little more stand-offish. Closed-off. ]

Look, I'll go back out. I'll find her.

[ Throwing herself on the fire is what she knows how to do. ]

[Dave bites back a sigh. He is all too aware of his own hypocrisy here, but he doesn't give a shit.]

Nope. Hold up for a bit, we've already got a crew working on the tracking part. Let's get all our shit in order before everyone starts running out on vengeance quests.

[The pot has met the kettle and they're having beautiful cast iron babies.

Luckily, Dave knows a thing or two about how to get under people's skin, so he gestures with the hand holding his comm at the mass of nurses fussing over Catra.]

Besides, shouldn't you be here when she wakes up? Pretty sure if my face is the first thing she sees I'm gonna get mauled. For real this time, no werewolf babes around to save me.

I... should be the first person she sees, but-

[ Adora's expression settles into something determined. ]

I should also be out there. Looking. I have my powers back. I'm not hurt. I can be useful.

We're 0 for whatever the fuck right now. Literally no one has come out of an encounter with this bitch still feeling good about themselves. And I'll just drop in the fact that I am a literal god and I still got my ass kicked.

[Not boasting, just. Y'know. Facts.]

So yeah. Chances are, you run out there on your own, you're gonna get hurt and-slash-or killed. And then she's gonna wake up to that news, and it seems like a dick move to inflict a distraught catgirl on everyone stuck in the infirmary.

[His mouth twists with a frown, and he lifts his comm where he's multitasking, shooting off messages with one hand trying to get people on the same page.]

At least wait until we've got more info or a crew together ready to take her down. Maybe preserve one of the still-unharmed powered up folks we've got for a fight we can actually win.

I was... well, I wasn't losing to her, at least.

[ Adora frowns. She wasn't winning, either, and she was very much distracted. She can't say she would've won, but she likes to think she would have. But doesn't everyone? She sighs. ]

I get it. I do. So... I'll wait. Even though I don't like it.

[ She gives him a look and a frown. ]

I do have some healing ability now... but it might take some time to recharge and I don't know how effective it actually is here.

[turntex]

[Whoo. Success. He lifts his broken arm slightly in its sling, wincing just faintly as he does so.]

Sick. Well, if you want a lab rat, I'm also chomping at the bit to get back in there. Just fuckin' gnawing at that shit. The bit is fucked at this point, to be honest, we really gotta replace that thing.

[In all seriousness, Dave isn't actually entirely sure what the "bit" in that phrase refers to. Something involving horses, he thinks, which will surely go over well with horse girl here.]

[ She steps forward and gingerly takes his arm with her fingers. She takes a deep breath, then closes her eyes and concentrates. For a long moment there's nothing and then a rainbow-y glow suffuses her hands and fades into his skin. Her power is weaker here, but... in this case maybe it will speed the healing along and help with the pain. Nothing super dramatic, though. ]

Oh, that's a long story. Basically... I'm a conduit for magic? From Etheria? And I can use it to do a lot of different things. I can become She-Ra, who is... me, basically. But eight feet tall and strong and tough. Like I said, long story!
