007: AMAs, Third Round

So, we've got a load of new people, and that means it's time for me to do the only thing it feels like I get on these comms to do anymore: AMAs.

For you new people, I find it helps when we get together and explain a little bit about ourselves, any powers we have, and our skillsets. That way we know what we're starting with and what we can build off of. So, please, come and introduce yourselves and be willing to answer questions.

Yeah, clearly no one could see that one coming, huh?

[ Eye roll. Then, a more serious look; she sort of quirks a brow at Kerrigan, a silent, acknowledging ‘you too, huh?’ but by now South knows well enough not to say or ask potentially sensitive stuff on the network when she doesn’t know what’s already out there. The Freelancers have had their dirty laundry aired for them, South isn’t about to pry into another’s. So she just carries on, leaves it open but unsaid. ]

All that stuff he said? Lot of it was bull, but like... there really was a leaderboard, like, ████, hardly the worst thing that happened but talk about a red flag when we were supposedly a ‘team’.

[ Nevermind that she got caught up in it, same as so many of the others. She sees it for what it is now, anyway. ]

[South is nowhere near close to unlocking the dialogue tree about Kerrigan's horrible military past, but yep. Her too.]

What were debriefings like? How do you score a mission? "Sorry, you used too many grenades, minus five points."

[Those questions are mostly rhetorical because wow.]

[ South snickers a little. ]

████, if only it were that transparent. To this ████in’ day I don’t think any of us understand the numbers. It was ████shit. Wouldn’t be surprised if it were totally made up depending on how far up the Director’s ███ the stick was that day.

[ Recent revelations accounted for... yeah, she actually is pretty sure it was all rigged. Her face flashes briefly with anger but she levels it out again immediately. ]

[ Her and North. Carolina and Texas. Yeah. Kerrigan's dead on. ]

[Kerrigan huffs.]

Ugh, yeah, ████ psychologists. Never met one I didn't think was talking ████ and then, well. All that.

[ Price is his own classification of terrible psychologist. Way to ward some messed up people off ever wanting to go get therapy to deal with their shit. ]

[Kerrigan's perfectly well-adjusted and doesn't need therapy. It's fine.]

Yeah.

[Rather than beat the dead horse of Freelancer's suckitude, she changes the subject to one she suspects is of interest to both of them.]

Hey, you wanna go a few rounds sometime?

[That's how you make friends, right?]

[ Totally how you make friends. ]

████ yeah, always down for a good fight. Gonna have to wait for this stupid thing [ she holds up her splinted hand ] but after that, I'm game. Though, maybe if they let me check-out my armour...

[ Her armour does not actually safely accommodate for a broken hand, and she doesn't even know if that's a thing she can do anyway, but she hates not being able to train properly right now. Should've thought about that before punching a metal wall. ]

[Kerrigan laughs.]

████ no, I do not do CQB against power armor. That's what marines are for.

[She said "hell." The filter is getting overzealous.]

[ South gives an amused snort. ]

Yeah, that's fair. Soon as this hand's not a broken piece of ████ then, you're on.

I'm Kerrigan, by the way.

[Introductions are a thing people do, right? Right.]

Kerrigan. [ An acknowledging nod. ] Alright. South, but, uh, I said that.

[ Introductions! Always awkward in South's experience. ]

[Having had a successful conversation, Kerrigan decides to quit while she's ahead.]
