Okay, so... I guess this is on now? Is that what the... damn it.
[Someone sounds Very Tired right now. She has had a really long week and it looks like it's getting longer as she speaks.] Is there anyone part of the Hargreeves family out there? [She pauses, apparently not quite understanding that she's still recording and people can't respond yet, before she heaves a sigh.] Yeah, I figured.
Is there anyone out there at all, or am I just talking to myself?
[Maybe she's officially snapped. Or maybe she died and this is hell. Either one tracks with the week she's had.]
Because I am talking to a block of plastic and I'm feeling pretty ridiculous right now.

You'd be aware of it. My name is Vanya. It's nice to meet you, Stacia.
Text
Definitely no Hargreeves then. I do have a Vanya, but he's my dad's uncle.
It's nice to meet you too. Wish the circumstances were better, etc. Anywhere in particular you want to start, or should I give you the same run-down that I gave the Easter Bunny?

...The Easter Bunny?
no subject
Yeah, the Easter Bunny's here. He's cool, but is definitely less familiar with technology. I taught him about emoji when we first got here, it was fun.

[It's supposed to be a joke. It kinda falls flat and sounds sad to her own ears after she types it.]
I'm definitely after indoor plumbing. Cars, planes, phones, computers, cassettes, that kind of thing. I've seen artificial intelligence, but it's not commercially available. What's an emoji?

No, it was a joke, don't worry about it. We didn't celebrate holidays in my house and you probably would have triggered the security system anyway.
I'm 29. It's been a while since I was the age for egg hunts anyway.
text
[Bunny is both in a hurry and learning how to communicate over text WITH INFLECTION from studying The Youths so this is all she gets for now.]
text
[...Maybe she shouldn't have sent that text. That sounds really bad.]
What I mean is that my father was a big believer in education.
[...This sounds marginally better so she's sticking with it.]
text
I'll make it up to you. It's just going to take a few more days. Cacao's still drying.
text
What no don't worry you don't need to worry about making anything up to me. You didn't do the scheduling in my house.
[Oh no she upset the Easter Bunny
She feels like this is against the law somehow.]
text
If you got a favorite fruit I can make that happen faster.
text
There's an Easter Bunny oath?
[She is so bewildered, but she feels like she owes it to the Easter Bunny to roll with it because she seems to have upset him(?).]
My name is Vanya and my favorite fruit is raspberries. I like strawberries too if there aren't any raspberries.
Wait is this a legal name thing? Do you need the name on my birth certificate or something?
[Help she doesn’t know how Easter Bunnies work]
text
[and a longer process to figure out which room is hers, but after a process of asking around and elimination, Bunny figures out which room is most likely the new gal's. Outside that room he leaves a hand-woven dry grass basket of mostly raspberries but also wild strawberries, with a dry blade of long grass woven into the shape of her name set atop the fruit, plus two grass bunnies holding up the words 'you're berry special.']

She picks up the berry basket, looking side to side to see if the bunny is around, but she doesn't see anyone. She smiles at the little bunnies, eyes warming at how cute they are before she pops a raspberry in her mouth.]
Oh wow, these are good! [She smiles before peeking awkwardly in both directions of the hall.] Thank you!
[She's not sure if he's still around to hear her, but she retreats to her room anyway after popping another berry in her mouth and picking up her violin. If he's around, she'd like to play a song for him. Probably something kids would like. Do Easter Bunnies consume children's media?
Well, it's worth a shot. She plays a medley she wrote for fun and gigs a while ago. Something sweet and soothing.]

If there's an Easter Bunny in my world, it's very different than this one. This one is pretty cool though, he's promised me chocolate and fussed over me when my arm got scratched up.
Oh, ha, he found you!
[Also promised to have her back if any of the Jorgmund employees tried anything, and to get her home. It still gives her a warm, fuzzy feeling.]
What about CD's and mobile/cell phones?
An emoji is a little picture that you can include in text. These things don't actually generate pictures, but you can still make them with the keyboard.
:) <-- happy face
:( <-- sad face
>:| <-- mad face
\o/ <-- person throwing their arms in the air going 'yay'
etc, etc
no subject
Yeah, he found me. He gave me some very nice berries.
[And she is a little overwhelmed by it all, but... is this what making friends is like? Or allies, maybe?]
CDs and cell phones? No, we don't have those. I don't know what a CD is and phones are always connected to the wall or ground if you want them to work.
Those emojis look helpful for text. I was thinking it's kind of weird to write to each other without seeing people's faces. :(

Okay, I think I know about the level of technology you're at then. CD's are basically the next step after cassettes, they're like smaller records except the music is encoded on them digitally and you can skip around from song to song really easily. And cell phones are phones, but portable and battery powered, with an option to send messages by text.
These communicators are basically a cell phone that also does video, but it's probably easier to show you how to do that in person than it is over text.
