007: AMAs, Third Round

So, we've got a load of new people, and that means it's time for me to do the only thing it feels like I get on these comms to do anymore: AMAs.

For you new people, I find it helps when we get together and explain a little bit about ourselves, any powers we have, and our skillsets. That way we know what we're starting with and what we can build off of. So, please, come and introduce yourselves and be willing to answer questions.

You have assessed the situation correctly. That being said I'm not used to commanding baseline humans, let alone mutants, xenos, or artificial constructs. But we form ad-hoc tactical units when necessary.

The nature of our opposition is strange, and somewhat random. It doesn't adhere to any kind of tactical protocol or battlefield sense that I can gather despite a few engagements. It is inherently chaotic.

I'm used to bringing in and organizing odd collectives with no time and less funding. If we have the interest I can offer leadership.

But the first step would be as you say, learning about our captors.

I think the best person to ask would be Alia, loath as I am to admit it. By her nature she has a great deal of insight into things here. She is remarkably helpful for an artificial construct, though I admit I have little experience with such things except as proscribed technology.

That said, our captors seem to be a corporation with all the flaws and inefficiencies of an organization designed to extract profit rather than serve the common good.

I'll do that, and I thank you for the information.

That could work well in our favor, most often the things those sort of corporations would have could be built by the lowest bidder. That doesn't mean they are the best possible technologies.

I'm painfully aware of that, unfortunately. When they send us out on undertakings the gear is frankly pathetic compared to the wargear I'm accustomed to. If you are from an advanced civilization, prepare to be disappointed.

And has anyone requested better gear for reasons of efficiency or success? If this is a business endeavor we might have better luck using logic that they would recognize as more profitable.

At times I have been able to requisition my own war-plate and bolter from the armory, as well as my chainsword and other blades. [ He sends a short video to follow which has some basic technical specs of his armor. It might be a little upsetting for Leia. Since Astartes have about the physical presence of Vader crossed with a stormtrooper (and Loken's armor is specifically white), and the durability of something more like one would see from a Mandalorian. ]

My understanding is they cannot replicate something more technically complex than the things they issue us with as standard, but they can use Stuff to pull our gear from home by the same process they got us here.

[ And Leia is fascinated, perhaps a little repelled but she understands the need to find people she can work with here far outweighs any gut reaction recoil she might have. Somethings were bigger than her own feelings, actually most things were. ]

That's good, and you're clearly skilled at the use of such weapons and armor. Do you think you could train others?

Absolutely. When I was a battle captain I had done so before.

Excellent, I feel like if anyone needed to be trained it is important to know who could help with that.

We should discuss this more at another time.
