007: AMAs, Third Round

So, we've got a load of new people, and that means it's time for me to do the only thing it feels like I get on these comms to do anymore: AMAs.

For you new people, I find it helps when we get together and explain a little bit about ourselves, any powers we have, and our skillsets. That way we know what we're starting with and what we can build off of. So, please, come and introduce yourselves and be willing to answer questions.

No, that makes perfect sense. I'm... basically doing the same thing, I guess, except for Etheria instead of Earth. And I have a talking, flying horse instead of a fairy...

[ Huh. ]

We should exchange notes.

[Setsuna blinks, and sits back slightly, looking not unlike she's been bonked between the eyes, as she considers this new information. She lets out a short, laughing huff.]

... maybe we should, at that. [She taps her fist to her mouth, contemplating.] I've even met a few Cures who were also Princesses ...

[princesspower]

I'm only a princess by technicality, really.

[ Adora laughs. ]

I still want to hear about your powers.

Well, when I transform, I get a little taller, a lot stronger, and a lot faster. And while I can't fly like that, I can certainly keep myself in the air for some time when I jump, anyway, so it's sometimes the next best thing. And I can summon a harp for a weapon, with Akarun's help. You might think that sounds silly, but ... it's easier if I show you how it works sometime, maybe.

As for the other things I can do ... [And then a mischievous grin crosses her face, and she leans forward, grunting slightly as she fussily positions the phone, with its video screen facing her, against the adjustable headboard of her hospital bed, then pulls back, raising one finger to her lips in the universal gesture for secrecy.] Shhh. Don't tell them I did this, okay?

[As she opens one hand, and grabs hold of her IV stand with the other] --Akarun, come here, please?

[The key-shaped Fairy obliges, sitting herself happily in the crook of Setsuna's palm, and Setsuna nods, takes a quick breath, and for a moment looks, very intensely, at the video screen she can see Adora and wherever it might be Adora's currently talking to her from -]

[There's a flash of red, on the screen Adora's watching her through, as Setsuna, Akarun, and the IV stand all vanish simultaneously.]

[A second passes, terrifyingly, in which Setsuna doesn't reappear.]

[And then there's a slight clatter, and another flash of red, behind Adora, as Setsuna gasps, "ah!" and grabs the IV stand just in time to get herself upright instead of falling awkwardly on her butt against the floor.]

It worked! Hi Adora! I can teleport.

[princesspower]

What are you doing...?

[ Adora leans in a little to frown at her communicator. Shouldn't she stay in bed? But a moment later there's that flash and Adora jumps as suddenly Setsuna appears in the room that Adora shares with Catra. ]

Setsuna!

[ She should be used to this. She knows Glimmer. Either way, she reaches out to steady her. ]

Are you sure you should be doing this right now...?

[heterochrocatic]

[ Catra is lounging a short distance away, tail twitching a little after her attempt to convince the new princess that maybe getting zapped is a bad idea. All of that is immediately shoved aside as something flashes in the room and she careens up out of her seat in a flail of surprised limbs, tail and hair puffing out in shock and surprise. She pauses for a moment, claws out and ready to go after someone when--

Oh. It's Setsuna. ]

Setsuna!

[ She says it almost at the same time as Adora. She crosses the room in a few short steps and reaches out to steady the other girl as well. ]

What the hell?

[Setsuna seems to have managed to keep herself on her feet, but she looks grateful to have their support, all the same.]

I can teleport.

[She repeats it, just for emphasis, and a little proudly.]

Hi to you too, Catra! [She laughs, brightly.] I just wanted to see if I could still do that ... my range is more limited than it would be normally, here. I'm lucky you left the bathroom door open ...

[Her face falls, expression turning serious.] You're right, though ... I can't stay here too long, they'll notice I left. [She gives them both a crinkled sort of smile, before it breaks open into a genuine, relieved, one.] I'm sorry, I just missed being able to see you both so much ...!

[princesspower]

You're like Glimmer!

[ Adora laughs. ]

Well, a little different. But still... it's a lot like her power. She can teleport all over the place.

[ She gives Setsuna's shoulder a squeeze. ]

It's good to see you.

[heterochrocatic]

[ Catra hesitates for a moment. There's an internal conflict of wanting to embrace her friend but... there's still that fear of being weak. Friendship, in this case, wins out. Catra hauls Setsuna into a tight hug and buries her face in the younger girl's hair. ]

I--

[ Her voice catches and she makes an awkward sound that's probably her trying to contain an outburst of emotion. ]

I'm really glad you're okay.

[passifloraincarnata]

[Setsuna's brain momentarily shorts out trying to process that she's being hugged like this by Catra. If one were looking for it, you could even imagine you could watch the uncompiled hex strings fling themselves in an endless sideways scroll of "sgafyegfjghagdaydgaejfgakgdywagfjebjbcbsy,fdka,hfubaudbajbcakjjsfdjas" right between her eyes as she's grabbed by her once (and future?) roomie.]

[Then, of course, she hugs Catra back.]

Me too, Catra. Me too.

[And after a tight, clingy moment, Setsuna at least manages to remember to look back up at Adora, then sort of between Adora and Catra, curious and relieved and nervous and eager and a whole mix of other emotions besides.]

I don't think I've ever heard either of you mention Glimmer before. Is she another Princess like Adora?

[She really should be thinking about getting back, but ... unfortunately, she can't help herself, she loves hearing her friends talk about their other friends.]
