The closet in here was missing a medium uniform and the locks in here are all fucked, but like... carefully fucked. And... that's it? That's the thing. Catra and Adora hang out together a lot and they know each other from before the Rig.

We're still stuck.

We never established what it can do around memory. Even when we thought it was what I thought it was, we never had a good idea of how to clear someone through that.

I'm just saying that they still have identical setups. What're you gonna do if you pull out Adora to throw her to the execs and suddenly Robbie eats Brainy and runs away?

Brainy and Robbie have alibis for the time of the breach, but I reckon it’s safer to have at least one other person post up with them.

I can vouch for Adora, too. I was hiding out in the dorm room with her and Catra for most of the two hours after the breach and before the alarm going off, and if she's this creature, there would've been plenty of time then for her to try to hurt either of us, instead of acting like ... well, a sleepy goofball, like Adora. I'm not sure this doesn't put us right back at square one.

If Robbie and Brainy were spending some...quality time together, they might have a solid alibi for most of the afternoon and evening.

Just like I had an uninterrupted block of being in the same room as Mac because of how early I go to bed.

So any other blonde that has a gap in time spent with other people might have been replaced by the creature.

[There's a pause as she goes stricken, and really considers the implications of what he's trying to tell her, before she reluctantly and grimly sends him her reply.]

... 'most of the time'. Only most of the time. I wasn't there the whole time, and she could've left and come back before I arrived. I can't vouch for her the entire period of time.

Only that she seemed perfectly like herself while I was around, that's all. I ... wouldn't have considered her a suspect at all.

If this thing can pick up enough memories to fool a telepath, it can probably emulate normal behavior. And since we're locked down, it's probably smart enough to act normal until there's a chance to get free.

Apparently, it's with it enough to make monster to-do lists.

Someone needs to ask Robbie and Brainy how long they were together today and if they ever got out of each other's sight. If someone wants to double check for me, you can go ahead and ask Mac. And we need to see if Adora had anyone there that had eyes on her during the time you weren't.

The only other person who would know the answer to that would be Catra.

[Why does this feel like she's throwing her best friend and roommate under the bus by saying that, when it's just the truth? She doesn't like this sick feeling in her stomach one bit. Catra better say she'd been with Adora the whole time, like Setsuna ... genuinely wants to assume she will.]

Did anyone clear Dave yet, too? He's a teenager too, with blond hair, I think he can do some sort of time travel?

I was with Adora.

I mean we were asleep before the alert but I'd notice if she got up and left.

So no alibi.

[Shit shit shit. That leaves Dave and Adora not having alibis for sure. They still have to check with Brainy and Robbie. A medium uniform likely isn't Robbie because he's taller than Wash, but Brainy...]

Look, there are other prospects like Dave and Brainy.

But if nobody had eyes on her for the whole time there's still a chance it was her. She might have tried to get up quietly to go do something without waking you.

[Someone that cared about their SO could potentially get up quiet as a mouse to let them sleep.]

I know it's terrifying to think she was replaced because then you have to entertain the idea that it could've killed the original. But we don't know if that's what it does to the people it pretends to be. Which means the person it replaced might be tucked away somewhere hurt and needing help.

If it did take her place, wouldn't it be important to figure out, if it meant the real Adora needed help somewhere?

I have really good hearing and I'm a light sleeper. Trust me, I'd notice if Adora tried to leave.

So fuck you for suspecting her and fuck you for even trying to make me have doubts about it. I'm not letting people try to throw Adora under the bus. It's not her and you need to some other scapegoat to throw to the execs.

[This is why he hates dealing with teenagers. So emotional and dramatic.]

We're not just going to hand the person over to the execs without making sure it's actually the monster. And if we suspect someone, we'll figure out a way to prove it without hurting them, just in case we're wrong.

Whatever you do, keep an eye on her. If whoever the doppleganger replaced is alive, we can't let it get away and potentially kill the real person.

I know how this works. I don't need your reminders or instructions.

We can handle ourselves.

No one's throwing anyone to the execs.

Yeah. I'm making sure of it.
