[Emily isn't wearing the ugly blue jumpsuit. She is instead wearing ugly blue scrubs, and judging by the background, she's in the Infirmary. And she's smiling. Emily is always. Smiling.]

Is there anyone out there with an injury or chronic medical condition that was untreatable in your home universe? I have robotics lab and medical access now. Come on by and we'll see about sorting that out! Or just come by for a checkup! I don't discriminate!

[She should probably set expectations properly, huh? Her good cheer goes from disconcerting to almost normal as she adds her caveat.]

The equipment is, hmm, vintage and I don't promise I can fix everything, especially if your biochemistry is out there compared to humans, but it seems like I'm from the future [she makes wiggly finger gestures, which are apparently supposed to signal...something] relative to quite a few of you, so that's an extra few centuries of medical knowledge. Might as well put it to good use!

I could probably use a good looking over. You're a medicae, then? I have some, ah, unusual attributes vis a vis a standard human, but having someone who can knit flesh and stabilize me if I'm shot or need replacement parts is excellent.

[ He doesn't appear offput by the finger wiggles, but instead thinks to ask ]

I am from the 31st Millenium. When are you from?

Though externally I resemble many other humanoid species like humans, my physiology and biochemistry differ significantly in some respects. I would like someone to examine me for a baseline and to perhaps familiarize themselves with my physiology before any injuries.

[His nostrils flare slightly.]

I've been to the Infirmary to inspect their facilities and see if volunteering as a medic is a possible way to make myself useful - seeing as I've apparently garnered a lifetime ban from the labs. I wasn't particularly impressed by their leechcraft.

[He briefly raises his eyebrows for emphasis.]

I would vastly prefer to have a physician or medic from a time period with similar technological advancement to my own.

I would like a bit of a checkup. Best as I can tell, I've lost... most of my strength. But everything else seems to be about the same.

If it helps, I underwent a genetic modification procedure in the '80s. About twenty-five years ago.

[Mac very rarely sees the doctor, on account of being one of those chronically underinsured people who actually doesn't even realize how underinsured they are because they have no idea how the system works and are accustomed to a certain level of coping with calamity in their life by shoving duct tape and pepto bismol at it. Back when he was much more promiscuous he used to pop into the local clinic for whatever antibiotics the nurse practitioner prescribed for whatever infection he picked up through unprotected sex with any woman that had a pulse and was willing to give him attention, and there was that one time he got diabetes (he's pretty sure from an unwashed shot glass, but who knows how one contracts diabetes, really, it is a mystery), but it's been several years and as such, he hasn't even had many glancing blows with the healthcare system. He doesn't know enough about it to actually value it.

Free stuff, though. Free attention, even. Sure, it's coming from a woman, which means that she's probably just a nurse hopped up on the fact that there are no real doctors here and hoping no one will notice, but what it sounds like to Mac is that Emily is extending herself as an examiner of whether someone's fit and healthy. And Mac would love some kind of certificate or plaque that certifies that he's in excellent physical shape so he can hang it on his wall and inspire Ben to stop eating those mess hall burritos.
