007: AMAs, Third Round

So, we've got a load of new people, and that means it's time for me to do the only thing it feels like I get on these comms to do anymore: AMAs.

For you new people, I find it helps when we get together and explain a little bit about ourselves, any powers we have, and our skillsets. That way we know what we're starting with and what we can build off of. So, please, come and introduce yourselves and be willing to answer questions.

Yeah. Of course I can fight. I basically lead the Horde for years because everyone else didn't see the big picture. Or they were too busy moping in their stupid lab.

Has anyone seen that happen or is it taken as a given because clearly no one wants to die to call a bluff? I'm curious about this company that's holding us all here. They can't be all powerful.

Look, Your Highness, I know that princesses like to think they're better than other people but I've gotten zapped by that thing. It's not fun, but if you need that personal touch then feel free to rack up a violation.

Ha- [ She cut herself off because it was a reflex at this point whenever some titles are used or some tones that there is usually one person responsible. She snapped her mouth shut and took a breath, she calmed herself and responded more levelly. ]

I don't think I'm better, I think I've been through enough and seen enough to know where to start looking for ways to fight my way out of a situation.

[ She grimaces and crosses her arms. ]

Okay, princess. Maybe slow down before Jorgmund decides you need a bit of a zap to keep you in line. Take it from someone who's dealt with it before. If you want to meet up, I can show you my scars.

[ She's ready to talk, and if being this open gets people to respond, well the risk may have been worth it. ]

[ True to her word, Catra is up on the top level of the rig. She has herself perched rather dangerously on one of the railings. Shading her eyes against the desert sun and heat, she peers out at the passing desolation, waiting for this princess to show up. ]

[ Leia was still learning her way around the rig so it took her a little while to find her way but she was hustling so Catra wasn't kept waiting long.

Leia emerged and blinked in the bright light. ]

Ma'am, hope you don't mind if I jump in here, but it's been my experience that if someone implants somethin' inside you without your consent and tells you they can use it to kill you, odds are they ain't bluffin'.

Good information is never an imposition. Though I've seen many people bluff I do know of slavers who implanted explosives in their slaves. I know these things are real in some places. I'm trying to learn how much risk is involved and how it can be used to advantage.

You're language is colorful, it reminds me of someone. It's alright, we're not exactly in a position to hold up the polite civilities of society.

I can confirm that they could 'fire' us with these. There is a chain of nanomachines wrapped around my core. Given an exposure of, oh... Perhaps half an hour or longer, of the 'corrective zaps' we are exposed to, it would lead to an equivalent of-hm.

Ah!

Imagine every nerve in your body being cooked until either your heart gives out from the sensation or your spinal cord simply burns away from your brain.

We survive these zaps now because of the relatively short bursts, they're not long enough to do any damage. While I'm relatively certain it would take half an hour, don't take that as gospel. I would need to undergo perhaps one to five minutes of experience to reach a proper conclusion, and I'm not really rushing to do that.

Reploids are as far removed from robots as modern humans are from Neanderthals.

Wow, you're a lot less smart than I thought. I figured such an advanced not-robot would understand the basic struggles of this whole multidimensional nonsense. I mean, you do know other people's worlds worked different from your own, right? And yet you're getting all bent out of shape because I don't automatically know all about "Reploids" or whatever.

[It's not like she looks that different from the robot he went to school with, and at the end of the day Keebo was just a bucket of bolts no matter how much he insisted he was just like everyone else.

Anyway, Monokuma certainly hadn't been bound to any of those fancy laws. It just doesn't hurt to ask.]

Mm. Sorry, I've mentioned it before but it's a bit of a sore subject and you haven't been around long enough to hear it.

Excuse you, cavemen aren't more primitive than modern humans. Given what I've learned about us because of future people studying history, my mate and her family are probably Neanderthals and I'm probably an early human.

I've been able to learn modern things and am only behind because you have a greater body of knowledge in the future. And schools. And reading and writing.

I'm gradually learning how to keep up with future people and my family is usually able to keep up with me. The idea that modern humans are more advanced instead of just more educated is a hurtful stereotype. Next time pick a different example.

[ Oddly enough Leia has felt that, and worse before. It's a long story and she won't get into it here. But she nods in understanding. ]

I see, thank you that is exactly what I was looking to find out for the most part.

Look, I'm not gonna put numbers to it, but there is a point at which a mortal body can't take anymore pain. They zapped me for - I reckon at least a minute, but it felt like more in the moment. I'm in no hurry to try more.

I don't blame you, few people enjoy that level of torment. I'm just trying to gage limits and actions and how they are applied. Thank you for helping with that.
