[voice; locked to new hires]
[Guts’ voice will be jumping in at the crack of dawn, and he’s pissed.]
If you don’t wanna die in this stinking metal heap, then listen up.
Adora found Setsuna and Tenten after someone tried to kill them. They'll live, but they're in bad shape. Real bad. The guards were useless, as you would expect.
They were attacked in one of the locked halls while we were sleeping, around the west side of the Rig. No one knows who did it, so keep your eyes peeled. Don't wander around alone if you don't have to.
Unless somebody’s got any better ideas, we should mount up a night watch until the bastard is found - in shifts and in pairs. Any of you that can fight and have a sharp eye can chip in. Don’t expect many of us to be getting much sleep, anyway.

TEXT
To summarize, however, it appears that Tenten was assaulted in the hallway and dragged into a side room for... flensing. Judging by the patterns of the blood, I would think that the stab wound reported was the last injury she received, as it appears that her attacker was interrupted.
It seems Setsuna was more easily subdued, which is logical considering the difference in their combat capabilities, and set up for a faster method of murder, suffocation, before the security guard interrupted. Whoever the attacker was managed to perform a brute force cardioectomy on the guard in one attempt before leaving the room.
Judging by the angle of the blow to the guard's chest, the damage done to the hallway, and the subdual of two New Hires and the guard, I'd estimate the attacker to be somewhere between 175 and 185 centimeters tall, highly skilled in combat, and possessing more than human strength and speed through either natural or external methods.
It might be wise to wait for Tenten and Setsuna to be available for comment before leaping to conclusions, but I've already compiled a list of suspects based on the Rig's personnel files. The list is... short. But hopefully they'll be able to tell us something to clear out any names.
Assuming, of course, the attacker isn't a shapeshifter or didn't use some sort of disguise. Also assuming, of course, that the attacker is a member of Jorgmund's staff. They could well be an outsider or an intruder.

Could've been an outsider. It ain't like this place is airtight from whatever is wandering around outside. Wouldn't be surprised if our bosses pissed somebody off and they're coming to get their revenge.

Anyway, as long as attacks keep getting interrupted like this, people's odds are pretty good!

Re: [voice]
The scene's already contaminated, so I'm not sure what I'll find that I didn't the first time, but it will be easier with fewer people around.
I did overhear something interesting, though. There's been at least four other attacks that we haven't heard of. Tenten and Setsuna are simply the first survivors. We have Adora to thank for quite a few things, it seems.

New here. What are the areas we're watching and how many we need per night?
no subject
We protect the sleeping quarters. I'm sure you've noticed our bosses gave us rooms without doors, generous as they are. The attacker is going to figure out where we sleep eventually, if they don't know already. It's too exposed for my liking.
With the numbers we got, and doing each shift in pairs... Looks like each one will be about two hours. Three for one unlucky pair, but we'll cycle through them, and some of us need less sleep than others.

For those of you I've not met: my name is Beckett, and I am a vampire, or Kindred, as we call ourselves. There was someone from a world like mine around, a young man called Kevin, but he seems to have disappeared. Aside from the circumstances, it's a pleasure to meet you all.

Buzz and I have talked about it and we're willing to stay up for a night watch. We don't need to sleep as much as humans, and more than that, we might not even register as alive to who or whatever it is, especially if we hide somewhere and keep still.
[Sure enough he's hiding...somewhere enclosed, where no one can hear him talking on his comm. Maybe a crawlspace of some kind? Or a little space in some ducts somewhere.]
Meaning we can maybe ambush it and send out a call for help while we pin it down. Turns out we both can do things now we couldn't do before.
We can also fit in the vents. We could patrol through them, too. Peek out in different places and report in if we see something suspicious. We're good at getting around and sneaking into places we're not meant to be.
[A pause as he wrings his hands on the brim of his hat.]
Anyone - anything - willing to hurt people so young needs to be stopped.
no subject
If you get in a position where you can pin them down, you should finish 'em off. I wouldn't hold back if someone's comin' at you with a killing intent. Could get ugly, fast.
[he's from the medieval grimdark world, don't mind him.]

I-I-I can probably help with the watch. I’m in the camp of can’t fight but I can get around the vents, and into places most people can’t. A-and can warn people if I s-see anything.
[And he’s just going to stick with that vagueness for now. It’s not even entirely true that he can’t fight. But by the sound of it, he’s definitely not on par with what most people here can do, and frankly, he’d just prefer no one relied on him for that. Whatever was out to kill the humans on this rig, he didn’t fancy getting in a tussle with it if that could be helped. It was already taking just about all the courage he could muster up to do what felt like the right thing and at least help keep an eye out.
And he already had a feeling he was going to regret that alone.]
I like being awake at night an-anyway.

My condolences to the victims. Whichever coward did this needs to be brought to justice, and I'm more than happy to lend a hand to make it happen.
I'm afraid I'm quite out of the loop, though. [He says, ruefully.] Being gone for most of a month will do that. Somebody mind filling me in on what I've missed?
