[During a lull in the party, Armstrong taps out a quick message to the network. Not that private one, he doesn't trust it. They can answer whenever they like, so long as he gets an answer. The trick would be wording it.]

So, we're all in this for now. You've had your welcome cake, but you can't meet everyone in a party, no matter how hard you try. But, since we've all been encouraged to sign up with Jorgmund, I figured now would be a good time to get some introductions done. Talk about any specialties we might have.

Share information that we feel comfortable sharing. This isn't to pressure anyone or to force out any dark secrets.

[Not where watchful eyes can see, at least.]

Besides, I prefer doing this to making a cute information sharing game.

So, please, make your own threads within this post to keep everything organized.

I'm a wizard. We use magic for the most part. I have used a phone and a camera but I've never heard of any kind of technology like what we're using to talk now.

you're a wizard and you used 'i make maps and rode a motorcycle' as your opener?

Before I saw everyone else talking about it freely. In wizarding society there are laws against talking to Muggles about magic.

And motorcycles are more interesting.

[Really, the bike was only interesting to start with because the idea of owning a Muggle motorcycle was, and still is, intoxicating to Sirius. Naturally, he thinks this makes it very exciting.]

There may have been a police chase or two but that came after.

did you ever break your wizard law and end any of those chases by flying it in front of the cops?

Why would I end it like that when I can fly away?

because it's more fun to fly away from cops when they can see it?

and presumably, they can't follow you. unless we're talking about wizard cops

are there wizard cops?

actually, come to think of it, why do you guys hide magic from muggles in the first place?

There are wizard cops. They're called Aurors though they go after dark wizards. They wouldn't bother with a traffic violation. The Muggles can police themselves.

We hide because centuries ago Muggles weren't very fond of magic. Witch burning and all of that.

i mean, you already admitted to getting chased by the police.

yeash, probably should have seen that coming. didn't really think about it being a consistency between our worlds. but i guess that makes sense.

[Note to self: test out video next time. Humor just doesn't always translate. Not that it stops him from trying.]

[Magic, of course there's magic. A wizard. Dojima has to hold back a sigh, even though he's using text instead of video. He's sure he wouldn't ever be able to guess what other surprises people around here have!]

That should be enough for the time being. These things? They're just fancier phones than usual. It's nothing you can't get used to within a few days.

[Not completely true, but hey! A small lie to try to smooth things over shouldn't hurt, he figures!]

They're not anything like phones but I'll figure it out.

[Cell phones are so far off for him. Trying to picture this device as being similar to a phone breaks his mind. It has a keyboard he can use! And it doesn't have a cord! And then there's all the features that just break his mind.]

[Hah! Yeah, Dojima took 'phones' as 'cellphones', and doesn't seem to have realized the terminology was wrong. If he found out what the phones Sirius referred to are like, he would feel rather dumb for a moment before wondering from what time Sirius came from, haha]

What matters is that we'll all be in touch no matter what.

[...he hopes, at least. As a way for everyone else to be alerted if anything happens to anyone. That's just going to happen someday, he's sure of it]

It's not like Jorgmund will give any option but to get used to everything, want it or not -- not that they'll give you a hand to understand it all better. They don't give a crap.

[Hm, he wasn't quite prepared to criticize their benefactors so openly. The other post had warned about Jorgmund monitoring and... honestly, Sirius hadn't understood half of those fancy words but he got the gist.]

Jorgmund must care a little. They do feed us actual food, give us proper beds, and apparently throw us parties.

[Yeah, Sirius isn't sure how much of that is even sarcasm.]

[Monitoring is tricky, but Dojima has never been one to mince words. He knows he should watch his words a little more, but it's...hard to fix habits in the span of a day.

That's going to be hard to overcome a little, hah]

Of course. We need to at least be in shape to be useful to them. If we're starving, badly-rested, and tearing each other apart all their effort would be wasted.

[Kind of a cynical way to look at it, really]

Exactly.

[Sirius is just as cynical.]

It would be nice if they'd give me more food so I can catch up to the rest of you.

[Look, if any of the staff is reading this, it doesn't hurt to drop hints.]

If you need it that badly I wouldn't mind giving you some of mine.

[At least for a short while, really, until he finds out how exhausting doing stuff for Jorgmund would be, and how much food they get every time and if that changes according to what they do everyday. It's bound to take a while, so right now he's fine with sharing]

[Why are people so nice here? It leaves Sirius stunned, at least for the moment. At least no one can see him struggling to find a proper reaction.]

Thank you but I don't want you to go hungry for my sake.

But if you can only stomach so much, I won't say no.
