001: Group Introductions - TEXT

[During a lull in the party, Armstrong taps out a quick message to the network. Not that private one, he doesn't trust it. They can answer whenever they like, so long as he gets an answer. The trick would be wording it.]

So, we're all in this for now. You've had your welcome cake, but you can't meet everyone in a party, no matter how hard you try. But, since we've all been encouraged to sign up with Jorgmund, I figured now would be a good time to get some introductions done. Talk about any specialties we might have.

Share information that we feel comfortable sharing. This isn't to pressure anyone or to force out any dark secrets.

[Not where watchful eyes can see, at least.]

Besides, I prefer doing this to making a cute information sharing game.

So, please, make your own threads within this post to keep everything organized.

good on you for being part of stopping it then

a metaplane is basically your corner of reality. we got like, stable worlds where non-spirit people can exist because the local rules are consistent and then between them all the astral tying it together. stable worlds are metaplanes, the whole thing together is the metaplanes

Oh, wow. I never really thought about big-picture reality before.

Kind of makes being here make a little more sense.

You meet a lot of spirit people?

yeah i guess its not a big concept in other places? anyway it's a useful way of thinking about it

Do you think they were jerks before they were spirits, or just after?

Oh, wait, are they spirits who never had bodies to lose? Sorry. My spirit experience is pretty limited to fiction.

the spirits im talking about never had bodies, yeah. they're not really jerks so much as their really not people like flesh-people are and they have their own like, way of doing things and reasons for doing it.

but in practice to someone who doesn't deal with them much they look like jerks

especially when their cosmic law crap means you gotta eat shit for a consequence you couldn'ta known you would be involved in causing, kinda thing.

avoid spirits unless someone u know says they're cool.

Right. I think I get it. Tough nuts to crack. But with cosmic powers.

I'm gonna take your word for it and try the avoiding. I'm not a big fan of dealing with consequences for things that aren't my fault.

If I run into one around here, maybe I can ask you for a heads up?

honestly that was my headsup. i'm not a shaman and i don't work with spirits, i leave that to my mates. but your basic fairy tale rules apply, don't overtly lie, don't take gifts without giving one in return, don't make bargains, etc.

Sounds like good manners to me. Spirits are sticklers and I can respect that.

also if you get thrown into their metaphorical living room by someone trying to kill you, to them its your fault, not the other guy's

I've met a few non-spirit people like that. Never a fun fact to find out about them.

I hope if you learned it the hard way, it wasn't as rough for you as it could've been? It... kinda sounds like it would be rough.
