001: Group Introductions - TEXT

[During a lull in the party, Armstrong taps out a quick message to the network. Not that private one, he doesn't trust it. They can answer whenever they like, so long as he gets an answer. The trick would be wording it.]

So, we're all in this for now. You've had your welcome cake, but you can't meet everyone in a party, no matter how hard you try. But, since we've all been encouraged to sign up with Jorgmund, I figured now would be a good time to get some introductions done. Talk about any specialties we might have.

Share information that we feel comfortable sharing. This isn't to pressure anyone or to force out any dark secrets.

[Not where watchful eyes can see, at least.]

Besides, I prefer doing this to making a cute information sharing game.

Hi, Adora. This is Elsa. We met at the party.

I like horses too.

I didn't even learn about them until I left the Fright Zone, but they're so cool!

I grew up learning to ride them. Mother and Father thought I should know how. It was one of the only times I was able to go outside. I always looked forward to it.

[princesspower]

I didn't ride them until after I met them. Swiftwind is pretty cool about that kind of thing.

[ Oh, huh. ]

Why couldn't you go outside? Was it dangerous?

Sort of. For a long time, I didn't know how to really control my powers. I thought that if anyone knew what I could do, they would be afraid of me. So I stayed in the palace where I couldn't hurt anybody.

[princesspower]

That sounds awful.

I'm sorry you head to deal with that.

And I mean, I can kind of relate. I had a really hard time controlling some of my own powers, although I was more worried about not being able to do enough. Not having control was terrifying.

It is terrifying. But I've never felt like I haven't had enough power until I came here. Everyone was always worried my powers would be too much.

Did your powers get weaker when you came here too?

[princesspower]

Not exactly. I kind of lost them. Or got rid of them, I guess.

Oh.

I'm sorry. I don't know what happened, but that sounds like it was difficult.

[She doesn't want to pry, especially not in a place where she can't be sure they're being watched.]

It's another long story. I'll tell you about it some time, if you want.

[She would like that! And she understands completely if part of Adora's reasoning is not wanting to talk about it on a public book everyone, including Jorgmund, can see.]
