001: Group Introductions - TEXT

[During a lull in the party, Armstrong taps out a quick message to the network. Not that private one, he doesn't trust it. They can answer whenever they like, so long as he gets an answer. The trick would be wording it.]

So, we're all in this for now. You've had your welcome cake, but you can't meet everyone in a party, no matter how hard you try. But, since we've all been encouraged to sign up with Jorgmund, I figured now would be a good time to get some introductions done. Talk about any specialties we might have.

Share information that we feel comfortable sharing. This isn't to pressure anyone or to force out any dark secrets.

[Not where watchful eyes can see, at least.]

Besides, I prefer doing this to making a cute information sharing game.

Oh okay. You guys got lots of gods over there?

We just have maybe one and I'm not sure how I feel about that right now, it turns out the whole secret thing of how the world is is like. Mad complicated.

And I guess we are two for two for having gods that made cursed people in this conversation.

[ Kevin squirms a little uncomfortably with that. On the one hand he appreciates the sentiment, but on the other he always squirms when someone offers him an out from owning the bad end of the vampiric condition. ]

I mean, I'm a monster. I drink blood, I know what I am. I just try to be the least monster I can be.

Mostly I like to think I am pretty okay, but if I get real upset I can lose my cool. I kinda did it when I showed up but they just zapped me until I stopped so I guess for now, that works to solve that problem while I'm here?

Kevin, the only thing Grimm do is kill. The God of Destruction made them specifically to destroy humanity. You might have a curse, I don't know, but if you're choosing to fight it, you're not a monster. You're a guy with a really tough life.

Vampires can get that bad but I'm not even close to that far gone and I plan to stay that way if I can. But that's like, future problems I guess. [ He waves a hand a little. ] I'd have to live longer first.

Humans can get that bad. Faunus, too. Most of them don't have the excuse of a curse.

[Salem is an outlier and should not have been counted.]

Sometimes a battle ends up being too big for you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't fight it anyway, if it's important.

Not that I don't appreciate the whole thinking about hanging on and stuff thing, cause it's dope, but what's a Faunus?

But yeah, good subject change, that was getting depressing.]

The people with animal features? Like my friend Blake, she has cat ears. Or Sun, he has a monkey tail.

[Huh.]

Well, I guess if I don't have vampires, it makes sense you don't have Faunus.

Noooo? At least, I've never heard of it.

[Animals aren't in the animation budget.]

Faunus see better in the dark than humans, and sometimes their animal stuff is handy, like Sun's tail is prehensile and gives him really good balance, but I never heard of them being able to talk to animals. Ruby's dog listens to Blake sometimes, but he's a dog, anyone can say "sit" and he'll sit, especially if you've got food.

Oh, we don't have those. I mean, I guess we have werewolves, but I don't know a whole lot about them and they just are people or... werewolves I guess, not halfway.

[ Kevin's werewolf lore dots? Zero. ]

I'm learning so much about other universes today, dude.

I didn't know there were other universes until today.

It's like... kind of hopeful I guess?

Like okay maybe this one sucks, but if there's other worlds out there that don't got all the wheels flying off at once, it's nice to think about.

And then there's... other planets. Real far away. And there's a bunch of them and they go around the sun and stuff?

And there's like, lots and lots of them out with the other stars and junk and there's gotta be aliens out there someplace.

But the only planet is Remnant, and maybe the moon counts for half. I've never heard of Earth. I mean, I've heard of dirt. But who names a planet that? Kevin, is your planet named Dirt?
